Postcard from Lourdes 2015

Lourdes 2015

Twenty-seven people from Kairos (workers, residents and former residents) travelled to Lourdes last week. We went to help with the sick pilgrims of the Oblate pilgrimage from Dublin, writes Mossie Lyons.

Over and above the five days of hard work, it was a most unifying, uplifting and enriching experience for the group. The sort recognised by Irish poet W.B.Yeats who could hear and feel the draw of the Lake Isle of Innisfree “in the deep heart’s core”. Over the past two years, nine Kairos people have received five-year service medals for their work at Lourdes but the draw and the annual call to go back runs much deeper and is a very personal, Kairos time.
