Caritas social action roadshow

Kairos director Mossie Lyons and support worker Dominic O’Gorman were among the speakers at the Southwark Caritas Roadshow in Woolwich on 21 June. Organised by CSAN – the Caritas Social Action Network – and the Archdiocese of Southwark, the event was part of the response to Pope Francis’s call to be a “church for the poor”. Archbishop Peter Smith and Bishop Pat Lynch welcomed more than 100 people and spoke about the key values of inclusion and integration. Also on the platform sharing their experience were David Huse, who managed the Mayor of London’s 2012 Olympic volunteer programme, and Sr Chris Rose of the Gift of Love homeless shelter.

CSANCSAN comprises 41 member charities working with children living in poverty, older people, the homeless, travellers, disabled people and others on the margins of society. For more information: csan.org.uk
